Ingredients for Cinnamon Sugar Dusted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Before diving into the recipe, let's gather all the ingredients:

  • Dry Ingredients:

    • 3 cups of flour
    • 2 teaspoons of corn starch
    • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
    • 1 tsp of fine sea salt
  • Wet Ingredients:

    • 1 cup of brown sugar
    • 1 cup of granulated sugar
    • 1 stick and 5 tbsp of melted butter
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 whole egg
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate:

    • 6 oz of 70% cacao dark chocolate, rough chopped (Lindt Chocolate recommended)
    • 4 oz of milk chocolate, rough chopped (Lindt Chocolate recommended)
  • Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

    • 1/2 cup of sugar
    • 1 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

Step-by-Step Recipe

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of corn starch, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of fine sea salt. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 stick and 5 tablespoons of melted butter, 1 egg yolk, 1 whole egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix everything together until you get a smooth, creamy consistency.

  3. Combine Dry and Wet Mixtures: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, about half at a time, mixing thoroughly until everything is well combined.

  4. Add the Chocolate: Fold in 6 oz of rough chopped 70% cacao dark chocolate and 4 oz of rough chopped milk chocolate into the dough. Make sure the chocolate is evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  5. Chill the Dough: Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. For best results, let the dough chill overnight, or ideally for 2 days. This allows the flavors to really come together and make the cookies even more delicious. But hey, if you're really craving cookies, the shorter chill time works too!

  6. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of sugar with 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon to make the cinnamon sugar coating.

  7. Shape and Coat the Cookies: Roll the cookie dough into balls and then roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating them as much as you like.

  8. Bake the Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the cookie dough balls on a baking sheet and bake for 7-9 minutes (10-12 minutes for larger cookies) or until they are golden brown.

  9. Enjoy! Let the cookies cool slightly before indulging in these mouthwatering treats.
